Is your outdoor area feeling a bit BLAH? Punch things up a notch with some easy, inexpensive outdoor accessories! Take a look at this before and after project tackled just in time for summer fun.
This morning on KATV's Daybreak morning show I talked briefly about a few outdoor tips to make your patio, porch, or poolside summer ready. If you missed the feature, you can check it out here.
I love this shot of the built in banquette with a fun bust planter (his name is Marco). How fun would he be rocking some aqua sunglasses!
Here's the before photo of a built-in banquette area:
I don't have to tell you that it needed some love. With a bit of elbow grease and some fun styling we took it from drab to FAB!
Here's another poolside area in its "before" state:
You'll typically find patio furniture sold in sets but it's nice to mix things up a bit. Here we brought in an orange acrylic laser cut chair to add a little spice.
I loved mixing the blue and orange for this project! It mirrored the surroundings nicely and played up the crisp blue of the pool.
Incorporating baskets and fun containers is a must! They are great for storing poolside towels, extra throw pillows, and just about anything else. This multi-color basket came from At Home (formerly Garden Ridge) and was a great find at $24.99.
Garden stools are great floating accessories that can be used as a coffee table, end tables, or pulled around as additional seating. Plus, when the weather changes they can come inside! Gotta love double duty accessories! I found these wonderful rattan pillows at At Home as well for $25 and I love the amount of texture they add.
How cute are these pom pom pillows (also from At Home). I've seen this trim popping up all over the place in fashion and couldn't resist adding them in.
Have a go at updating your own outdoor space, or if you're not up for the task give me a buzz! Oh, and bring an iced tea out there because here in the South, it's H-0-T!!!
